BRIEF PROFILE
Qualification :   M.Sc. B.Ed
He did his Master Degree in Atmospheric Sciences from the Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana and Bachelor of Education in Science from Govt. College of Education, Bhiwani, Haryana. He joined the Himachal Pradesh State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (HIMCOSTE) in 1998.In the HIMCOSTE he has 20 years experience in Wetland Conservation Programme and Environmental Education programme under the Ecology & Environment division. Under the Wetland Conservation programme the three Ramsar sites Pong Dam, Renukaji & Chandertal wetlands and two National Wetlands Khajjiar & Rewalsar are identified for conservation and management. 3000 Eco Clubs and 100 colleges eco clubs coordination, trainings, orientation workshops activities. Establishment of Weather Stations in the Eco clubs, Environmental Audit Schemes for Schools, Eco Monitoring Schemes for school children, Celebration of Important science & Environment Days, trainings are coordinated in the HIMCOSTE. The achievements like Eco Club students, CBO’s, Panchayats, NGOs’ etc. were involved in the process of prohibition the use of plastic carry bags & littering of garbage, Coordination of eco clubs evaluations during the visit of evaluators for Prime Minister Award in the Sustainableble Plastic Waste Management in H.P. Aus-Aid Biodiversity conservation and Monitoring project was executed in the Village Mehli by involving school children, teachers and villagers., Biodiversity Conservation and Monitoring Manual was developed under the programme. Establishment of Weather station in the Eco clubs. with the technical help of India Meteorological Department (IMD). More than 250 Eco Clubs in the state by covering all the districts of the State have been trained under the Environmental Audit Scheme covering five thematic areas i.e water, energy, air ,land and waste. The major trainings/seminar attended - one Month Training under AUS-AID project under the Project “Capacity building of Community Organizations in Biodiversity Conservation & Monitoring” in Adelaide, Australia, trainings on cost Effective Pollution Control Technology in Punjab State Council for Science, Technology & Environment, Chandigarh. Training on Plasma Pyrolysis Technique in FCIPT, Ahemdabad organized by DST,GOI. one week Training in Wetland Conservation and Management in Srinagar (J&K) organized by WII, Dehradun, training on Developments of Green Beltat FRI, Dehradun
